About Our Venture Section

Our Venture Sea Scout Unit is for young people in Secondary school (TY and 5th & 6th Year), who are ready to take greater responsibility for their own adventures, develop leadership skills, and explore the sea and outdoors in new and exciting ways.

As Sea Scouts, time on the water remains at the heart of the Unit. Ventures advance their seamanship and outdoor skills while challenging themselves to try new experiences and push their boundaries in a safe and supportive environment.

What We Do

Ventures work together to plan and lead their own programme—whether that means sailing trips, kayaking expeditions, camping, hiking, or international Scouting events. With guidance from adult Scouters, Ventures take the lead in shaping their activities, learning independence, teamwork, and decision-making along the way.

The Unit is a place for young people to grow in confidence, build lifelong friendships, and prepare for the next stage of their Scouting journey, while continuing to live out the values of Scouting and a spirit of adventure.

Our usually weekly session is at the Den on Mondays between 8:30pm to 10pm
